Dec. 22. at the home of the bride's maternal grandmoth er, Mrs. John C. Goggans in Newberry at five o’clock. The bride is the daughter of Jgr. and Mrs. Allen DeKalb Bar ron of Joanna and the groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. WflHam A. Romans of Batyn Rouge, Louisiana. Father Berberich performed the candlelight ceremony before members of t^e immediate fam ilies. Following a weding trip to New Orleans, the bride and groom will make their home in Memphis, Tenn., where they will continue their studies at the University School of Dentistry. V. Po well. The occasion was in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Powell’s first visit here since their marriage Sept. 4, at the St. Elizabeth Epi scopal Church in San Diego. The recent bride is the former Miss Patsy Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Miller of Corning N. Y. and San Diego. Receiving guests with the ho nored couple and Mr. and Mrs. Powell were Robert D. Powell and Miss Carolyn Bundrick. The hotel lobby was decorated in a Christmas theme of red, gold, and green. Gracing indivi dual tables were arrangements of magnolia blooms, go’d Christ mas balls, glittered leaves, gold nuts, and candles. To tee side of the f^om an arrangement of red velvet roses with white and gold leaves was most effective. On hte other side of the room, a gold fantasy Christmas tree was used. Leading the way into the ballroom were decorated columns of magnolia leaves cen tered with two gold bells and red velvet bows. Gold Christmas wreaths graced each of the en trance doors. The elegantly decorated ball room where punch, coffee, and party dainties were served car ried the gold and white color notes. The coffee table was ar ranged to the back of the'room. A white embroidered cut-work cloth was used with a single silver candle holder with white taper and miniature bouquet graced one end of the table with the silver service at the other. The punch table decorated was covered with white satin over laid with an organdy skirt. Two silver punch bowls were used at each side centered with an ar rangement of white chrysantfife- mums, . gladioli, and boxwood, tippbi!’"with gold glitter in a ' Swedish six-branched candela bra. The refreshment table from which party dainties were ser ved was placed to the front of the room before a background of palms. A dotted-swiss skirt was used over white satin with a mint green swag to each of the sides caught at intervals with miniature bouquets of chry santhemums, boxwood, and white satin bows. Among those enjoying the oc casion were Mr. and Mrs. Perry Moore, Ronnie Moore, Mrs. Jes sie Schumacher of Waynesville, N.C., grandmother of the groom. Mrs. Stewart Honors Group With Drop-In Following the monthly meet ing of the Woman's Society of the Associate Reformed Presby terian Church held at the church Monday evening, Mrs. Earl Ste wart entertained the members with a drop-in at her home on Greenwood highway. Holiday decorations in a pink and white motif were used in the receiving rooms where refresh ments of fruit cake, nuts were served with Russian Tea and other party dainties. Assisting Mrs. Stewart were Mrs. R. L. Plaxico and Miss Nannie Young Tribble. PERSONAL MENTION Mr. and Mrs. William T. Davis and children who have been making their home in Charlot te, N. C., spent Christmas with hir parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Davis, enroute to Green ville where they will make their home. Mr. Davis will be connec ted with Craig and Galden, Architects. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Davis, Sr. accompanied by their children, Mr. and Mrs. W. T.
