Gil bert will leave this weekend for several weeks visit with the lat ter's mother, Mrs. Eugene L. David Sr. in Atlanta, Ga., and from there will visit their daugh ter Mrs. John T. Hettriss and family in Chattanooga, Team., over the Christmas and New Year Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. George Bultman of Sumter are expected to visit this weekend with Mrs. Ray mond Pitts. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Earl Halsall on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. John W. Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Thomas Pickett and children, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Townes and family sill of Green ville. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Halsall will visit this weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John W. Ray in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thomas are planning to spend Christmas day with Mr. and Mrs. L. RECEIVES MERITORIU8 AWARD Major James H. Watts Jr. of 406 Pinewood Ave., was among fourteen officers and enlisted men of Fort Benning’s 181st. Aviation Company to receive awards for meritorious service. Major Watts received an Army Commendation Metal for meri torious service while in Hawaii. Miss Ruth Bailey joined her sister, Mrs. A. B. Bray of Grif fin, Ga., on Wednesday and they departed for a two weeks trip to see their daughters and nieces, Mrs. W. H. Powe and family in Las Cruces, Texas and Mrs. Sherman Clark and family in Normangee, Texas. Beth Williams of Forest City, N. C., will arrive Friday for a visit with her grandmoth er, Mrs. M. C.
