Brock- enbrough was hostess to mem bers of the Actaean Club on Fri day afternoon. Following a delightfully infer-j mal hour gyestp were invited into t h e dining room for refresh ments. A green cover overlaid the tea table, adorned with green candles, fruits and holiday greens. Elsewhere in the receiv ing rooms seasonal decorations were attractviely used. Plans were discussed for se lecting books which the club do nates to the City and College Li brary. Members are currently knitting bandages for lepers. FHA Chapter Tp Hold Christmas Dance The Future Homemakers of America Chapter of Clinton High School will hold their annual Christmas dance on Friday eve ning, December 16, from 8 until 11:30 in the gymnasium. The event is semi-formal. Tickets are now on sale at the school. Stu dents and their dates are invited to attend. The Collegians from Presbyte rian College will furnish music for the occasion and refresh ments will be served during the evening by FHA members. Following the business session, Mrs Heath Copeland presented the following program on “Christmas In Other Lands.” Mrs. Grace Connor told of Christmas customs of many countries which was especially interesting as she had spent Christmas in many of the coun tries. Selections included: Quartet—“Jesus Is Born in Bethlea.” American folk song the Southern highlands. “As Lately We Watched.” Christmas descant. Mrs. Joel Cannon, Mrs. Edgar Sadler, Mrs. Heath Copeland and Mrs. Henderson Pitts. Accompanist, Mrs. Don Creighton. Solo—“In A Manger He Is Ly ing.” Polish carol. Mrs. J. D. McKee. Solo—“Oh Sleep, Sleep On, Thou Fair Child.” Alsatian car ol. Mrs. Joel Cannon. Quartet—"Bring A Torch Jean ette Isabelle.” French carol. “What Child Is This”—English carol. • Solo - “Oh, Holy Night.” French carol. Mrs. Edgar Sad ler, Quartet — “Oh, Thou Joyful Day.” Sicilian hymn. Carols were sung by the entire club, accompanied by Mrs. Heath Copeland. During the social hour the hostesses served fruit cake, spic ed tea and nuts. A Christmas tree and other holiday decorations were used. Assisting Mrs. Farnell as host esses were Mrs. R. M. Fuller, Mrs. Judson Davis and Mrs. James Neal. Prevattes Entertain On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Ted Prevatte; were hosts to a few friends on Friday evening for a drop-in at their home on Musgrove Street from 7 until 9. During the delightfully inform al hours guests were invited in to the dining room where re freshments were served in buf fet style. Appointing the beauti ful holiday table was a tradi tional bay berry bush. The brass tree-shaped spiral held small lighted bay berry candles and at the base were holly and gold poinsettia leaves.
