Assisting were Henrietta Crapps, Glennie Tinsley. Vickie Rhodes, and Kenneth Johnson. After games were enjoyed re freshments were served by the ladies in charge. Follow ing the meeting Mrs. Shouse served refreshments. The Sunbeams of Fairview Bap tist Church met Friday at the church under the direction of Mrs. Tally Crapps and Mrs. Earle John son. At the close of the meeting the children went to the home of Mrs. Crapps for refreshments and games. The Fairview Brotherhood will meet at the church Friday at 7:30. All men of the church are invited to attend. Deacons of the church will meet Saturday night at 7:30 Tonight will be the last night of the revival at Shady Grove Presby terian Church. Rev. Hugh D. Mrs A C Williams Open house win be held July S. m the Recreation Hall 7 19 to 9 39 far the teacher* and all of the Two Countir Escapees Caught After Being Tracked By Hounds Laurens—Uring bloodhounds from SLED, Laurens County deputies quickly captured two chringang es capees in a thickly wooded area In the Greenpond section of the county Friday afternoon. The men were identified by Sheriff C. W. Wier as Frank Crane and his son, Charles. .j- Tfce pair surrendered meekly after they sought to flee back into the woods when confronted by Dep uty W. D. (Dub) Burns as they emerged from the woods into a nar row dirt road. The men halted when Deputy Burns drew his revolver and ordered them to surrender. Neither of the escapees was arm ed except for small pocket knives each carried. The men were spotted about 11:30 a. m., Friday, by Deputies Bill SprueB and Sam Reid uho were in the Greenpond section searching for a probation violator. They fled into the dense woods when they saw the two officers. * The sheriffs office was notified and Sheriff Wier called for the SLED bloodhounds in Columbia. The hounds quickly picked up thq' I fugitives' trail and were baying at their heels when the men emerged from the woods into the hands of Deputy Burns. Charles Craine was serving 60 days for reckless driving mi driv ing without a license, and Frank Craine was serving 30 days when they escaped from the chaingang several weeks ago. Aiding in the search were Chief Deputy Wesley Fowler and Horace MkrbeO “Toe Time’ This coming Monday will be July and an enjoyable day is planned for ail members at the Country Club. Beginning at 9:30 a. m. there will be gaaas at the pool for the boys and girls up to 16 years of age. At the end of these games, there will be a grand surprise for.-aU’tfce beys and girls. At 12:00 one will be able to buy a barbecued plate lunch. Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 3:00.
