Special Programs Friday To Honor Leading Students Presbyterian College will spotlight some of its most outstanding stu dents in a double feature Honors Day program this Friday. Moaning chapel exercises will be the occasion for awarding certifi cates to newly elected members of the Senior Honor Society and the Sophomore Honor Society and to nominees for current listing in “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Col leges.” On Friday evening the annual Dean’s List banquet will honor those Presbyterian College students who have been included on the roll of Center near Gray Court. Harold W. Tyler Dies After Boarding Bus; Funeral Held Here A 55-year-old man. Harold W. Tyler, suffered an attack while trev- eling on a bus he had b4|rded at Clinton and was pronounew dead on arrival at the -Newberry County hospital Sunday night Coroner George R. Summer said Mr. Tyler apparently died of natural causes and no inquest will be held. The coroner said the man was car rying a note that he had seven chil dren at a children’s home He had been there on a visit. The driver of the bus. due to ar rive at Newberry at 8:10 p m , drove his vehicle to the hospital where a physician pronounced Mr Tyler dead The coroner said a driver’s per mil carried by the victim listed his home address as Marion. The body was returned to Clinton and funeral services were conducted at 3:30 p m. at Thomwell Memorial Presbyterian Church by Dr Mai colm A. Macdonald. Burial was in Rosemont cemetery. Jr., came to his death by be ing struck by an Atlantic Coast Line train and death was due to his own carelessness. The 21-year-old Negro was hit Wednesday shortly after noon as he sat astride the tracks in the Cold Point community six miles south of Laurens.
