Mrs. Darr Hostess To Presbyterian Women Plan Self-Denial Week The week beginning January 30th through February 3 has been desig nated by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian church, U. S., as a period of prayer and self denial for Foreign Missions, in which the whole southern church is participat ing. For observance of this week the Women Of the First Presbyterian church have arranged the following program: , Monday, January 31, at 3 o’clock, an address by Mrs. Paisley, a re turned missionary from Korea. Tuesdary, February 1, at 3 o’clock, Period of Prayer and Review of the j Mission Study Book. Thursday and Friday, February 3 and 4, at 3 o’clock, Period of Pray er and Review of the Mission Study Book. All women are cordially invited to attend. This program was ar ranged by Mrs. Robert Wysor, Sec retary of Foreign Missions for the church. B. Copeland jointly entertained a group of friends at the home of the former in Renno. Red gladioli and flowering quince prettily decorated the living and din ing rooms. A delightful supper was served buffet style to about forty guests. Later, punch was served and dancing enjoyed throughout the eve ning. Party Compliments January Bride-Elect Among recent social functions in compliment to Miss Florence DuRant whose marriage was solemnized Sat urday, was the party given by Miss! Hazleburst Herron at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Cap tain and Mrs. Felton Moore. Three tables attractively centered! with nosegays of daffodils and white mums were appointed for refresh ments and a dessert course was served. Each guest was presented a nosegay as a favor. On a side table was a tiered wedding cake topped with a white corsage which was giv en the bride-elect, who was also re membered by the hostess with a gift of silver.
