Miss Niernsee has been conducting: the work for her. Miss Capitola King-, who is , attending Greenville Female College had a fall a few days ago, which, though not serious, is causing her much pain. Hermother will go to Greenville this week to see her. Mrs. Wright Jordan entertained in her usual pleasant manner the Embroidery Club on Monday evening. Though several members of the club were kept at home by the gloomv weather, there were enough present to make the evening very enjoyable. Mr. Jno. A. Bullard, who formerly lived at Dillon, died in a 1 hospital at Rocky Mouut on the 1 l3th. Mr. Bullard's death was caused by pneumonia. The interment was made at Latta on tne lotn. me deceased was 45 years or age and leaves a wife '< $nd one child. 1 The Civic League meets Thurslay afternoon at 3:30 in the Town Hall. As there is special business to be transacted it is hoped that the attendance will be unusually large. The members remember the meetings are on the second and fourth Thursdays, and i should not wait for notices. Messrs. C. S. Dwight and Wm. James were hosts to a few select friends at a dinner - at the Price Court Inn Thursday evening...' After a bountiful repast which was 1 greatly enjoyed, by the guests cigars were passed around and the remainder of the evening was spent in pleasant social intercourse. Rev. T. Tracey Walsh, Episcopal archdeacon of Columbia, preached two interesting sermons at the Masonic Hall Sunday morning and evening. Mr Walsh has engagements at Dillon which he fills regularty once a month. While here Mr Walsh was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. O' Ferrall.
