Dillon were in Columbia Monday on business. The Civic League meets Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 in the town hall; all members are requested to be present. Mrs. M. F. Barnes and Miss M. E. Bauman spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Barnes' parents in Clarkton, N. C. Rev A. E. Spencer of Florence is conducting: a meeting: at the Presbyterian Church. The meeting^ are held afternoon and night and are being well attended. Rev. Rohert Adams Pr#?cid*?nt of the Presbyterian College of South Carolina at Clinton, filled the pulpit at the Presbyterian Church Sunday. Col. A. E. Montague, representing the new railroad, arrived in town Saturday and joined Mr. W. M. llamer, Dr. David and Dr. Stackhouse, the right-of-way committee, and discussed plans for securing the right-of-way for the new road. The committee is now actively at work and hope to be able to make a favorable report in.a few days. Mr. Bascom Meares and Miss Susie Huggins of Lumberton were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the Price Court Inn Monday morning. It was another case of parental objection and a romantic flight across the border line to the state where marriage certificates are unnecessary and divorces are never granted. C., Miss Belle McQueen and Mr. T. B. Campbell were happily married. Ihe groom is a native of Dillon. After the ceremony and a brief reception the bride and groom came on to Dillon and are > now residing at the home of Mr. Niel Campbell, father o f the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell will make their future home on the Jackson place near Little Reck. These were the only articles missing but / j it is probable that the robbers \( got other goods. The entrance | was made through the back door. A pane of glass was taken out and the robbers crawled through the \ aperture and then unlocked the door. There was no clue to the rcbbeis. The Messrs.
