The "whole of Pelion was saddened on the night of November 22, 1321, by the sudden death of Mrs. Elizabeth Wise. She was only sick about 20 or 30 minutes. She went to bed s emingly as well as usual about 9 o'clock and aboyt 10 o'clock her daughter, Mrs. W. I. Bert heard her making a noise and went to her and v.n? t.qv-17 oir>u and hefore only IUUHU XX^L IVij V... a few of the neighbors could get there she passed away. Mrs. Wise before her marriage was Miss Elizabeth Myers of St. Matthews, where she was born and reared and when just a girl she joined the old Buck Head Baptist church, one of the oldest in the Charleston Association and remained a member of this church' until a few years ago. She moved to Pelion and joined the Baptist church there, of which she was a-faithful member at her death. She was indeed a great church worker,1 ever ready to do anything good, ever rebuking sin and was constantly pleading with those she came in contact with to live a better life and only a week before she passed away, though feeble she was, went on a mission to invite some to attend church services who did not attend. It can truly be said of her, she hath done what she could. She leaves seven children, viz: Mrs. L. W. Wise, Mrs. W. F. Best and Mrs. R. T. Zenker of Pelion. Mrs. Loula Bates of Columbia, Mrs. Charlie Prickett of St. Matthews, Mrs. Henry Wyche of Richmond, Ya. Also one son, Walter Wise of Yemassee. Her Pusband and one daughter having preceeded her to a world above. She ilso leaves 16 grand children and a Post of friends, who will ever cherish Per memory, and think of her as one, more attraction in heaven, as she ivas at all times a great inspiration to! :he writer.
