Adver tisements the report asserts included "Get rich quick" oil speculations and political propaganda improper in gov ernment publications. Another alleged abuse of governnent funds charged by the report was print ing of 30,144,362 speeches of federal officials at an expense of $442,798, to the government. Paper consumed to taled 1,451,000 pounds. As members of congress must pay for copies of their speeches, the report says, the "gross ahuse" from the free printing of other fe(leral officials speechesj should stop. The report says the committee under its power to su pervise government printing investigated 266 journals, magazines )-n(l periodicals and disconi tinlued 111 at a saving of $1,200,000 annually.
