FOR LAW AND ORDER. Resolutions Adopted by Mass Meeting of Citizens of Saluda County Remedft:s Demanded. Saluda, S. Wil son has been quite sick for the pasi two weeks, but glad to say is some. what improved. Miss Bessie Cromer is spending a wh ile with her aunt, Mrs. L. L. Moore. Our school at Union academy opened Monday morning with Miss Olive Feagle as teacher. Miss Olive is an accomuplished young lady with five years' experience in teaching, and we are expecting a prosperous school. Mrs R E. Hunter, who has been quite sick for the past month, is able to be i). Mrs. H1. R. Epps spent the latter part of last week with her son, Tlhs. L. B Epps, at Newberry. Messrs. S. A. Rikard and R. H. Kib',er, of Long L,ape, spent last Saturday night and Sunday with relatives inl this section. We were glad to have our pastor, Rev. J. J. Long, and his good lady to spi-nd Saturday night with us. His company is not only entertain ing, but is also profitable. We are glad to see tlat Bro. Long has been so fortunate in securing such a no ble Christian lady as a wife. Mrs. Long is a perfect type of niodesty, and to know her is only to love her. Come again, Bro. Long, we are always glad to have you with us. Mr. M. L. Strauss went down to Orangeburg last week to collect his rents and look after the interests of his farm. He passed Columbia and took in the State Fair. Messrs. Geo. 'J. Kinard, his brother Alouzo, and Clinton Kinard went up to Newberry Saturday night. .Ir N. G. Gallman is at work in Coluinbia. Ie came up on Sun day, returing the same night.
