A bill to add two more mem bers to the school board of Pageland district was passed by the legislature last week. Mr. Coit M. Graves, formerly of Pageland, who lv^s been in ^ Wilwood Fla. for- several months, has entered Massey business college at Jacksonville Fla. Mr. A. W. Funderburk, who has served the town for more than a year as policeman, has resigned and will farm this year. Mr. R. P. Whitmore has been elected to succeed him. Mr. Zeb Long has sold his dray wagon to Mr. A. G. Anderson, and Mr. W. J. Blakeney has bought the Pageland Mercantile dray, thus giving us two public drays. Miss Wincey Horn died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harrison Ragsdale, near Plains, last Saturday and was buried at Plains Sunday. H. Blakeney, pres ; J. E. King, vice pres.; J. Monroe Railings, sec.; S. W. Watts, mgr. The stockholders since the reorgani zation are W. J Blakenev, ?foe M. Railings, J. A. Mills, J. A. Turner and the officers mentioned above. Mungo Brothers have bought Mr. G. M. Rodgers' stock of merchandise and have enlarged their store so that both rooms of the building are now used by them. Mr. Rodgers, who is magistrate for this township, has purchased an interest in the telephone exchange here and will devote part of his time to it, John Edgeworth, a negro about 40 years old, died alone in his cabin near Crowburk last Thursday morning and was found dead by other negroes in a few hours after his death. He had been sick some time and had been at the home of some of is people about a mile away, but a few da3rs before his death he was carried home and left alone. He had to get his own wood, and pneumonia was con tracted, which resulted in his death. His brother spent the night with him before he died in the morning, and said he seemed better. Dr. Eubanks examined the body and found no evidences of foul play, and no inquest was held. v Personals Mr. Robt. Turner, of Columbia, spent a few hours at home here Saturday. He has been suffering with a nasal trouble, but is improving. Mr. David Simpson, of Columbia, spent Sunday at the home of his mother, Mrs. A. M. Simpson. Mrs. U. F.
