New York, January 7, 1343. Messr3.A. B. and D. Sands: Gentlemen?HavBseJ, and witnessed the effects of your excellent preparation of Sarsapnrilla on different persons in various parts of the Southern country, viz?Virginia, Louisiana, Texas and Mexico, I feel much pleasure instating the higli opinion entertained of , its great medicinal value. In my own case it acted almost like a charm, removing speedily the enervated state of the system, and exciting in the most agreeable manner, a tonic and invigorating influence. Your Sarsaparilla is highly approved and extensivelv qsed by the United States army in Mexico, and my cousin Gen. Zachary Taylor, has for the past five years been in the habit of using it, and recommends ihe same: he and myself adopted the article at the same time, and it is now considered an almost indispensable .requisite in the Army. In conclusion I would say, that the better it is known the More highly it will be prized, and I rust tin' !"j.l h r-'srn i??<rr virtues will m ike it generally vv i, throughout i/, ? length and breadth of "u widely extended country. Sands?Having suffered many years with a disease of my throat, affecting the larynx, during which 'itne I was treated bv the most distinguished physicians in Europe and the United States, without re eiving any permanent benefift but all the time my general health and strength declining, and the disease making fearful progress: caustic applications were useii, and whatever else was thought most efficient for producing a cure; but I am confident the deplorable situation I was in the, laryngitis being accompanied with phthisis and great difficulty in breathing, would soon have terminated my life, had I not obtained relief thro' the medium of your invaluable Sarsaparilla. I must say, gentlemen, wfien I commenced using the Sarsaparilla I did not place much confidence , in its virtues ; and this will not surprise you, when you are informed I had tried more than fifty different remedies during the past four years, without any success; but after taking your Sarsaparilla a few weeks, I was obliged at last to yield to evidence. This marvellous specific has not only relieved, but cured me; and I therefore think it my duty, gentlemen, for the benefit of suffering humanity, to give you this attestation of my cure. Yours very truly, D. PARENT. Consulate of France in the United States. The above statement and signa ure wore acknowledged in our presence by Air. D. Parent as true. Sands' Sarsapaiulla.?It has ever been a prime article of our medical creed, to recommend no advertised medicines, for we are opposed to thern conscientiously and p ofessionally. but we feel bound to deviate from this rule, and recommend to the suffering the article at the head ol this notice. The great medical virtues of Sarsaparilla, are we l known and appreciated by physi. cians, but th?' uncertainly of the strength of the different preparations of the root, some being almost inert, has caused the medicine itself to fall into disrepute.
