ENLARGEMENT OF THE J! SATURDAY EVENING POST. A new volume of this well established and highly popular family newspaper, greatly enlarged and an improved, with entirety new typc.commenced May 1st, 1841. The paper is printed in beautiful type, and hafc received the praise of n any editors of taste, as " the handsomest family sheet in the Union." Our efforts have been directed to the combining of beauty and simplicity wilh utility and taste. The Post is printed on a stout white paper, rendering it neat and durable tor filing, it is issued at the old established rate Of two dollars per annum cash, or fhree dollars if nbt.paid in advance, and may truly be said, now tnat it is enlarged, to be the;largest 1tJ; paper in the country at the price it is sold. Jt has all the merits, and bohfe of the defects of the large papers of the day, lor while the earlirsf literary matter may be fotiud in its columns, a judicious compilation of domestic and foreign news," with the usual \ariety of wit and sentiment, will render it a nt] belter family paper. The proprietors make no flourish of trumpets about Ibe size and cheapness i f the paper, or the firm basis upon which the "Old Post" stinds. It is not necessary. It has borne the battle and the breeze for the last Twenty-One Years, and has held its posiliofi in the midst of lot' tering and crumbling rivals, and has fllccd and buried all kinds of opponents. The Mode op Conducting It.?The proprietors ;af having for a long time deprecated the nooos oi foreign literature, indiscriminately re-published in this c >untry, have determined, without altogether neglecting'this field, to select nothing but tha choicest tiles and sketches, from the English periodicals; and they have made arrangements by which they can famish these to their subscribers in advance of every ontentporary. The editors will also keep ad Cye trtrhe best American tales afloat, giving, always, Ihe preference.to the writers of their51. own country. We shtlll still continue the plan of giving original stories trom jxipular American writers. The well kno.wn Autborof " Cruiziug in ') the Last War,"' opened the volume with the first of a new series of trilling nafltical tales, in addition ' ? to to the old, a mnnber Of new Contrihntors will enrich its colurrins with choice and eutcrtaining original articles. ..jn order that the SATURDAY EVENING POST may maintain its high position, r" as the first Family Newspaper in the United States, :e nrrngements have been made lor a regular supply | | ofchoice end entertaining Original Tales, historj| ical sketches, poetry, &c. We have been publish ing for ino-tths past an unbroken series of choice s* oiiginal stories which have been procured at'grea: < is cost, and have been widely copied and read.
