SIGN.-A few days ago, a lady teacher in thc city here, who has among her pupils two little daughters of Mrs. Stover, who, it will ho remembered, ia a daughter of President Johnson, requsted each of lier pupils to ascer? tain at homo whether they would eoutiuuo in lier school tho next quarter, which commences again within a couple of weeks. The lit? tle Misses Stover returned the next day, and promptly told tho lady that they were not coming to school any more. When questioned as to tho reason, they, with child-like simpli? city, said: "Grand-pa says wc aro going to ?nove buck to Tennessee, in April." "I shall insist," says Mr. Bingham, ..if thc President transmit his resig? nation to the Senate, properly certi? fied by tho Secretary of State, that the Board of Managers be ut once instructed by thc House of Repre? sentatives to discontinuo all proceed? ings against tho President, and that they bo discharged from all further consideration of the subject." In this view Mr. Wilson concurred. Mack-Cincinnati Commercial. At Heloun, Arkansas, on Thursday, a negro killed the Sherill", Eurt. Turner, who was attempting to ar? rest him for the murder of three colored men. The negro thon mounted tho Sheriff's horse, and escaped to tho hills by tho aid of some colored people. Ho was fol? lowed by oflicers and citizens, and he fired upon them, wounding Mr. Se? bastian Popo. A squad of soldiers arrived, and wounded thc negro, who w1 died in a short time. Fi HE.-We aro sorry to learn that, on Saturday night last, about 12 o'clock, the barn of John G. Brice, Esq., of this District, with a quantity of com therein, was dostnryed by fire. Mr. Brice states that it was unques? tionably the work of au incendiary. There was no fire anywhere in the vicinity of tho burn, and Mr. Brioc visited it only an hour before it was discovered in llames. * [ Winnsboro Netcs. A mongrel sheet, of Boston, says: "The truth is, that we have not yet whipped tho rebels enough." Well, poor ass, you havo whipped the "rebels" enough to pauperize your own people. 20,000 men and "wo? men are daily fed on pauper soiip in Boston. In tho whole North there are over 200.000 mon rm?l wessen cut of employment-whipped out of em? ployment by this business of "whip? ping the Southern pooplo." THE ELECTION IN NOKTH CAHOUNA. Gen. Cunby yestorday issued an order ?ii reference to tho coining election in North Carolina, undor tho pro? visions of tho Reconstruction Acts. Its details are similar to thoso of the order in reference to this State, recently published. Tho election is to commence, on the 21st and end on thc 23d proximo. HOMAN MONSTROSITY-A CHILD WITH TITREE ARMS.-lu Lincoln.Coun? ty, Tennessee, is a well developed white child of somo ten years of age, walking, talking, eating, &c, in tho most approved juvenile manner, with n third arm growing from its bnok, immediately between its shoulders. This arm, us it is culled, is no flabby, useless excrescence, ns is common iu such freukB of nature; but a healthy, well-defined limb, with separate and appropriate bones, joints, muscles, etc., and applied by its little owner to a number of strnngo uses. In tho centro of a plato of bone permanent? ly uniting the shoulder blades, is the socket or first joint, permitting the limb to be moved freely in nil direc? tions, by means of several powerful and strangely complicated muscles. From the socket extends A triangular boue-or three small bones com? bined-perfectly straight, and about eight inches in length, terminating in n short, flexible wrist, upon which closely fits the hand. This hand is somewhat iu tho ?hapo nnd about the size of un ordinary funnel, with four linger-like projections at equal distauces about tho rim. Tho lingers have clftw-lil?o nails, joints, Sec., and possess the power of oponing nnd . closing ns in the ordinary hand, thoir j grip, however, being much more ! powerful. Tiie palm, which seems already hardeue.l by use, recedes into tho wrist, leaving a sundi opening, from which constantly oozes a dark mucous discharge, entirely devoid of smell. At a word from its mother, the child lifted and curried about with its strange member a small chair, and other unwieldy articles; ! suspended itself from a walking-stick i -in fact, went through evolutions which would put to blush a well- j trained monkey. The limb, being : perfect and harmonizing with thc entire body, is nothing more nor less I than a designed addition to it by its great Author, and this little boy's 1 birth has created a blank in natural history. -Nashville Union. Tho following nominations wero made: Stato Senator-J. M. Allen. Representatives-S. Tinsley, Wylie Bishop, John Hyde, (whites,) nnd Wilson Ceok, (colored.) The Anderson Intelligencer says that Mr. E. J. McClure, of that Dis? trict, committed suicide by drowning himself in Seneca River, on tho 21st instant. His mind lind been affected for ?orne days, and there is no reason to doubt that he elided his life iu a fit of insanity. He was about sixty years of age.
