PERTY. - At Washington, on Friday, the Speaker luid before tho House a message front the President in reply to a resolution of the House request? ing information aa to the names of larsons worth more than $20,000, to whom pardons have been issued, and ulao as to the aimjunl of property which, as abandoned land, had como iuto the possession of the Unib:d States Government, and which has l>een returned to the original owners. The President transmits, in response to these inquiries, reports on the subiect from the Secretary of War, tito oecretary of Shite, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Attorney General, together with a copy of tho amnesty proclamation, and other documents relating to the subject of the inquiries. The message was laid upon the table and ordered to be printed. The leading facts embraced in the reports transmitted by the President are these: Over 7,100 partions havo been granted under thefanmesty pro? clamation, of which between COO and 700 have not yet been issued. As to property seized under the Aol. of Con? gress of 1862, all such property has been restored in the cases of persons pardoned, except in the eases where legal proceedings instituted for the condemnation of such property have beepj brought to a conclusion. The y^?^ecretary of the Treasury, the Secre? tary of State and the Attorney-Gene? ral state that they have no record in their respective departments showing the amount of property, real, per? sonal and mixed, which has been re? stored; but the first named says that the lands which havo been seized were transferred to the Freedmen's Burean for the uso of tho freodmeu. The -Commissioner of Freedmen's Affairs, in the documents submitted, estimates the number of acres which have beeu restored to>- the original claimants at over 400,000. The lands belonging to the Hon. William Aiken were restored on the recommendation of Maj. Gen. Sickles. The rolling mills at Macon, Ga., were restored to their?owners on the recommendation of Lieut. Gen. Grant. Quartermas? ter-General Mcigs says that the rail? roads which hail been seized as a military necessity have been restored, on the condition that their affairs bc placed in tho hands of loyal directors. Tho repurts are voluminous, covering upwards of 500 pages of manuscript. CHANGES TN DISEASES.-Physicians ??>! extensive practice in New York tice that of late years a marked - inge has occurred in the diseases iey are called upon to treat. Thus t is said: Beforo the introduction of croton water, and when tho lime-water pumps liad to be used, stone, gravel, and kindred diseases were frequent, while diseases of the bowels always had a diarrheal character. Hut now thoy are un frequent; but there lias been an amazing increase in the number of jieoplo troubled with con? stipated bowels. This condition is an almost invariable accompaniment of all complaints. This luis been at? tributed to lead-poisoning, and is most noticed in families where the (a water is not kept running from the pipes; and nence women are the principal sufferers from this com? plaint. If lead-poisoning is general, there should bo a rule adopted corn lulling the removal of lead pipes for conveying water from the mains to the interior of the houses.
