No one was Injured. A large force was at once set to work to repair tile track, but this could not be done In lime to permit the passage of the Northern-bound train last evening, and lt is doubtful If any trains will be able to pass the break this fore* noon. The accident was caused by a spread? ing of the road, and by some unseen defect of I a bar of Iron. A train will be sent up to meet | the down-trains to day. A HOUSE OF CORRECTION. The eating house at Branchville, the prop? erty of the Soutb Carolina Railroad, and pre? sided over by Mrs. Carroll, with a host of effi? cient assistants, is a marvel of excellence well deserving of more than a passing notice. Indeed, It is doubtful If there is a traveller's retreat anywhere along the route from New York to New Orleans that would not lose by comparison with this well-kept and refreshing stopping place. It Is a rare thing for a weary traveller to be set down on the roadside at a restaurant, which would do credit to a large city, where everything la or the best, and served up not only in abundance, but lu a cleanly, neat and tempting style, and where, beBldeB, one Is not obliged to hurry through his meal In the manner described by Dickens In Martin Chuz zlewlL In the restaurant at Branchville the traveller not only finds himself seated at a table well furnished with all he could reasona Wy desire, but he is not compelled to bolt his food in nervous baste for fear of having to make a sudden dash for the cars, should the ominous and impatient whistle summon "ail aboard," before the meal be half completed. In Short, the Branchville restaurant is a model worthy of imitation, and forms an agreeable exception to a very disagreeable role. AMUSEMENTS. Miss Jeanie Patterson.
