Southern Cums-rata Advocate.?Among the many exchanges, which como to us pretty regularly, thcro is one which we should give more attention to than merely glancing over its contents, and selecting from it what would be valuable to our owu paper. We allude to the S'AUhern Christian Advocate, now priutcd at Mocou, Ga., and which was published in this city for years before the war; and, while its strongly wiittcn articles bestowed much benefit upon the religious por tion of tho community, it took a high stand wherever it circulated, in consequence of the liberal feelings it dis played. There is a tono nnd character in this publica tion that bears a great contrast' to many which it has been our lot to encounter, and which to us gives it a soothing freshness when. we take it up. Tho last num ber (October 2C), besides selections of a varied kiud, all, however, breathing kiud.religion and pure morals, con tains an editorial, headed "Peace," which is Worthy the attcntivo perusal of all Christians, without reference whatever to sect, or difference of mode of worship. It is written for all, and the sontonoes there oxpressod comes from a breast so expansive that it would know no section of country, nor boundary to tho influences of Uiat religion only which is to savo the souls of men. We fervently desire that all in the Union may be impressed thoughtfully with the language and spirit of this article, and that It may tend greatly to promote the divine blessing of "peace on earth." In tho same paper will also be found a very interesting and pleasant letter from the Rev. Dr. Summers, weU known and appreciated In Charleston. We may here say, that our paper, tho Daily Nkw8, is now printed at the office which was built for, and oc cupied for a long time by tho Advocate, and we hope, sincerely, that the benign Influences which governed those who contxolod the sentiments of that paper may filil? exist within its walls, and spread tholr kindness upon us, so that when we have Rvod as long aa it, wo may be enabled to look around and point to as faw enemies.
