The Charlotte Observer of the 23rd inst: gave the following account of the marriage: "A third love knot was tied last eve ning at the residence of Mrs. Nancy Kerr Houston, of South Church street. At 8:30 o'clock a pretty "chrysanthe mum wedding" was witnessed in Mrs. Houston's parlor, the contracting par ties being her daughter. Miss Jennie Houston, and Joseph W. Pr?vost, of Anderson, S. C. The wedding was a quiet, unpreten tious affair, but claimed, the attention of a large circle of friends, the bride and groom being alike deservedly pop ular and admired. The house was richly decorated in chrysanthemums, ivy and potted plants and presented a most attractive scene. There were no attendants. "At S:30 Miss Ethel Hanny cutt began the wedding march, and the bride and groom entered the room on the right, i taking their stand before a bank of beautiful ?owers. The Rev. J. W. Stagg, D. D., of the Second Presbyte rian Church performed the ceremony. It was sweetly impressive. The recep tion which followed was attended by a large number of friends, and a hand some affair. "The bride-a daughter of the late James Ambrose Houston-wore pearl gray cloth, and carried white roses. She is at all times pretty, but looked particularly so last night in her wed ding gown. She is a bright, attractive young woman, who will always make and keep friends. "The groom is a native of Anderson, bat is at present employed as trace clerk in the office of the Southern Ex press company in this city. His worth is known and recognized. He has a host of friends here and in South Caro lina, and they vied with each other in sending beautiful gifts to him and his bride on the eventful evening of their lives. "Among the presents were handsome pieces of silver and cut glass from the expr?s* e<?.up my-Superintendent Sad ler, Messrs. il"vkaday. Richardson, Al len. James and Blankehip, route agents and from th*? messengers." Denver Dots. Mrs. W. A. G. McWhorter visited her daughter, Mrs. Sam Harris, at Belton, last week, and had a very pleasant time.
