It won't be long until the dappled i horses, the clowns, the grunting hippo ! and all the muchly loved sights and sounds of the big show will be with us, for Circus day?Howe's Great London Circus and Van Amhurg's Trained Animals circus day in York will be Monday. October 17. This new consolidation of two well known circuses, a union which will j have as its resultant performances of; remarkable scope and appeal, requires j four trains of seventy foot steel cars, a ; big top seating 12,000 people, 11 acresi of canvas, five hundred and fifty horses and 700 people as adequate cornple- ( ment. The arenic program will be presented in three rings, on two stagi s, in two steel arenas, in an aerial conclave and in the quarter mile hippodrome track.
