For the benefit of people who have made inquiry as to the price of single copies of The Enquirer, with a view to securing the coupons for the watch contest, we beg to say that it is not our purpose to allow the coupons from extra papers to enter into this contest if we can help It. Ordinarily we do not print more than from twenty to forty papers over enough for regular subscribers. These extra papers usually go to new subscribers desiring back numbers, and to people who require them in the ordinary course of business. The price of extra papers is strictly 5 cents each. We are Inclined ^ to the opinion that this price is prohibitive for the purposes of the watch contest: but in case anybody insists on purchasing at this price, we reserve the right to cancel the coupons before delivering the papers. Sixty years ago. In the city of Newark, N. J., a few level headed, business men obtained a charter to organise a mutual life insurance company on the "old line" plan. After long deliberation they decided to call it the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co., and that it should be conducted for the "mutual benefit" of all who became members. The foundation stone was "conservativeness and economy." No big salaries to omcers or commissions to agents. Those principles have never been violated, and today the company enjoys the reputation of being the leading policy holder's company in America?one that has always given more in proportion to cost than any other. It is Just as great an ambition with the management of 1906 to maintain its reputation as it was that of 1845' to start right. Its recoi-d is as white as snow and you ot t ho llhpraHtv of its contracts, as compared to others, If you would examine them. It is my business to show them. SAM M. GRHIT, Special Agent. Low Prices And High Prices Don't be discouraged at low prices but keep driving. Both pleasures and adversities return In due time. The best time to buy to make money is when property Is dull sale. I have seen oats selling at 18c a bus. in St. Louis, when tbe stablemen were charging 75c a head per day for feeding h orses, and I saw no account of the farmers talking about burning them. When you have useful things to spare to burn, give Ihem to your neighbor or some charitable institution. Let me handle your PROPERTY AND PROPOSITIONS, with written limits and Instructions. You sign up when you transact in Banks, and you should act likewife at all other business houses If you w'iht to avoid disputes and misunderstanding. If your business is in my office, customers are sure to apply when they need your offerings. from the fact I tell the world in printer's ink what I have to offer and If la nanopoo rv for ovorvhnHv to know who are the interested parties. Talk is cheap if you don't say too much. The time to do business is when you have a proposition that can be accepted. Now is the accepted time in the business world same as in the church. Some folks expect too much for their property, while others expect too much for their money. Act liberal, divide the difference and get together. I want to know what the following properties are worth to you. Don't expect to get rich asking questions. You must do business to get results. FOR SALE. No. 234. The Bell house and lot on N. What's the matter with you Bankers and Lawyers that you are living In such common houses when this fine property is for sale? Say something reasonable. Don't expect me to give you folk's property and beg you to take it besides. There are dead people in other places than the cemetery in this country. Shake them out of their clothes and I don't know whether their clothes would know they were gone. Nos. 223 to 230. The Dargan lands around Guthrlesville.
