[BEG leave to report that, in October 1854, I re- ^ ported to the Court at York that for the benefit if the Catawba Indians I had expended Twelve bun- j Ired and twenty-two Dollars, 17} cents; and from -? hat time to the first of December, I expended thiry-three Dollars and 81} cents more?making in all ^ welve hundred and fifty-five Dollars and 49} cents, ^ vhich I reported to the Legislature in December * 1854. I beg leave to report further that Mr. Masley's (former Agent's) accounts from the time of his B\ ast report to time of his death were seven hundred d ind eighteen dollars 06} cents. These accounts I a eported to the Legislature in December last, and t] lave paid over the money to W. J. Cureton, (Admin- ti straior of Mr. Massev,) to settle these accounts.? This shows that of the two thousand dollars appro-' sriated for Inst year, nineteen hundred and seventy- ' 'our dollars and sixteen cents have been expended, c leaving in my hands twenty-five dollars and eightyfour cents, on the 1st of December, 1854. I have P received twelve hundred dollars this year?making a 5122-5 84. The Catawba Indians are decreasing.?
