ROBERT L. MoCAUGIRIX. NEWnxaRttY, 8. C., Jan. 17, 1671. Mat. R. L. AlcCAUona tN. DxAn R in: I used one ton of the Carolina Fertilizer.last year, and can et.rtify that i more than. doubled thme crops wherever ap plied. I prefer it to the Pacific Guano, ant sha!l use more of the Carolina this veal than any other Fertilizer. Respectfully, WM. Y. FAIR. NEwnEnT, 8. C , Jan. 16, 1871. M. It. L. McCAUGHItIN. DRAR Stn: I purchased from Carwile 4 McCaughrin, last SprIng two Tons Carolina Fertilizer, which I used upon light sandj land at about one hundred and twenty-flv lbs. (125 lbs.) to the acre, and 1 am convinceo that it doubled the crop oven with the drr season that I experienced at my place, and ca. safely say that the free use of good For tilizers will pay as an investment with cot ton at 10 to 12c. JOHN R. LAKE. NKWRIRRY. 8. C., Jan. 18, 1871. MR. R. L. AleCAUGIIIIN. I)RAR Sltt: by opinion of the use of Fer tilizers, and the result of 42 Tons I purchasesa of Cairwile & McCaugharin, last spring, is tha the free use of good Fertilizers year after yea will add greatly to the value of the land ini will pay a handsome dividend as an invest ment. I cannot go Into detaIls, but as ai instanco: I have land at my home place tha 4 years ago it took 20 acres to make 3 bale of cotton, now, after the free use of Fertili zers for three years, will produce a .ale o cotton of 400 lbs. to each acre, and some o it more, and last year 5 acres of it yielded 160 bushels Wheat. The last two seasons have puarchamsed from your firm, aotme 7 yons Fertilizers, and can recommend thI Carolina Fertilizer, PaelficGaano and laungha law Bone, all of which I believe to be excel lent manures and fully up to what they ar represented to be. Yours respectfully, J. S. HIAi{. NEWDERRY. S C., Jan. 16, 1871. MR. R L. McCAUGiiRIN. DE~An Stut: In answer to your enquiry a to the merit' of the Carolina Fertilizer an< othmer Giuamnos, purchased froam Cairwile e bleCaughrin last Spring, amounting in all to about ten Tons, I take pleasure in makina the fullowing statements: On 6 anasea upland. light, sandy soil, used 250 hbs. Carolina Fertilizer per acre, an<t gathered from each, 2,300 lbs. seed cotton o 13 800 Ibs in all. On 25 acres upland, of the same kind e soil, I used Guano's in about the same pro portion, and male from this fleld about 1 b.iles lint cotton per acre, or 37 bales in all each weighing over 400 lbs. For the preparing and cultivation of thes lands I followed the same plain as recomn mended in my report on (kotton to the Agri cntural Society, in Columbia, on 9ith Nov. 1869. I also believe, from my pa"t experience I1 the ue of Fertilizers, that they are proaitabi with Coattmn a, 10 to 121c. per le. , and wi paty at these prices cit least 100 per cent. o amount invested.
