At Blacbsburg, in Oneroke?- county, Joe Brins< n ami Prank Whisonant, negroes, were lynched early Friday morning by a smalt mob which broke into the town jail, after all po icemen on duty bad retired for the night. The negroes were c irried to a blacksmi h shop and handed from the rafters The mob then dispersed. The negroes, it was alleged, had taken a ret-pectable whire man to a deserted spot in a cemetery and forced him to drink a pint of whiskey. At ter getting this white man intoxicated, it is ad ged, they artacked him The victim was left alone in the cemetery,and, getting over the tffects of the whiskey, told his fellow townsmen of what had happened. The negro s were capmred and placed in the i jail. There w*s little trouble in breaking into the jait. Death of Mrs. Lowman. ' Mrs L"tt Lowman died at h r h< me near Wyse's Perry, on Fridav afbr no<?n, after a bri-f illness, aged about 75 years. She is survived by her husband, two s-ms and odp daughter.
