By a vote of 36 to 3, the State Senate on Wednesday overruled the veto by Governor Coleman Livingston Blease of the resolution passed at the last session of the Ansel dispensary winding-up commission. The three senators who voted with the Governor were Strait, of Lancaster, Hough, of Kershaw, and Earle, of Oconee. The debate on the action of the governor in vetoing the measure was somewhat acrimonious at times. It was seen early in the discussion that the upper nouse was determined to pass the measure over the veto of the Chief Executive. The reeoludcu now goes to the house for ics concurrence or non-concurrencfe in the over-ruling of the veto. The belief is that the house will act as the senate ha9 acted. Notice, Pension Board. December 11, 1911. }uBest On Earth" This is the verdict of R. J. Howell. Tracy, O., who bought Foley's Honey and Tar Compound for his wife. "Her case was the worst I have ever seen, and looked like a sure case of consumption. Her lungs were sore and she coughed almost incessantly and her voice was hoarse and weak. Foley's Honey and Tar Compound Drought relief at once and less than three bottles effected a complete cure." Kaufmann Drug Co. The trial of the "label" case in Richland county has been postponed by agreement of both sides, until the next term of the sessions court. Foley's Honey and Tar Compound "Cures in Every Case" Mr. Jas. McOaffery, Mgr. of the Schlitz Hotel, Omaha, Neb., recommends Foley's Honey and Tar Compound, because it cures in every case. "I have used it myself and I have recommended it to many others who have since told me of it9 great curative power in diseases of the throat and lungs.'' For all coughs and cold9 it is speedily effective. Kaufmann Drug Co. * Obituary. Stansel Pickens Berry was born June 27, 1909, and departed this life December 30, 1911, making his earthly pilgrimage 2 years, 6 months and 3 days. His body was laid to rest in the Florence church cemetery on New Year's morn. Stansel Pickens oore his afflictions with great meekness, yet he was in the most severe agony and excruciating pain. We no more hear the soft and welcome footsteps around the family fireside. He has left a vacancy in the home and family circle?a stillness that is almost unbearable, yet we have the assurance that he lias gone up yonder to Him who said ''Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'1 We heartily thank our neighbors and friends for their kind attention during his short illness and may God bless them.; Father and Mother. Willie Washington, colored, aged 15, had a foot cut off on the Coast Line at Alcolu on Friday while trying to board a moving freight train. The effort to form a new county, to be called Hey ward, out of portions of Aiken and Edgefie d, with North Augusta the county seat, has been revived. ^ City Hotel and Cafe, AMERICAN / * and EUROPEAN " . ; GOOD CLEAN ROOMS NEAR THEATRE AND STATE CAPITOL American Rates ?1.25 to ?2.00 European Rates,* Rooms, 50c and up.
