THURMOND & TIMMERMAN, Plaintiff's Attorneys. May 1, 191!.?6^34 $2500.00. ORDER. THE RICHARD'S BUSINESS COLLEGE, SAVANNAH, GA., purchased twenty-five hundred dollars worth of the latest model Remington Typewriters, on April 2>th last. The largest single shipment of typewriters ever made to an individual in the states of Georgia, Florida, Alabama or Carolina, with one exception. This makes a total of <w >i? l-/iS OCnd 1a r? V\ T> 1) /"""l f t\ I'WI'.UOCJU uy uii* it, JJ. Vn in K?ss than two years- The RICHARDSBU3INFSS COLLEGE tenches '*tough" typewriting from start to finish. They haven't a typewriter in their building with a lettered key, the key boards are as blank as a piano. This accounts for the wonderful i ecord made on Saturday, May 13th when they held their final contest for a permanent ownership of the Remington Trcphi*\ Tho medal was captured by a studeDT, Miss Ethel Parms, of Savannah, at a net speed of 64.8 words per minute. 'l'netoiai numo**r 01 worus wrirren wore 75.6 words per minute from which five wcro deducted for each error. This is the highest average ever made by a business college student and ; due to the careful instruction receive I jer capable teachers. For Sale. Some Farm Notes* The farmer is not much different from anybody else. Home-grown plants are much superior to bought plants. Cattle will never do well in the same pasture with sheep. Land intended for spring crops should be plowed in the fall Have the holes for the trees to be r moved dug wide and deep. Squab raising seems to be a favorite occupation with suburban people. Large trees should be taken up when the earth is frozen around the roots. A farmer can tell the value of corn tt^yer without making any serious mistake. Atlanta Banker in Bad. An Atlanta banker or loan broker named J. Wiley Smith has skipped the city and from various reports has 'embezzled about $150,009 belonging to yariou9 people there. He forged notes and then sold them and did ljts of things on that order. ? Cashier Kills Himself. Last Wednesday at Tarboro, N. C., Luther V. Hart, cashier of the Bank of Tarboro was discovered short by < an examiner. Hart went home to dinner and shot himself in the head with a pistol. The shortage is about $o0,G00, it is said.
