J . lv?OXTC3S:XOX-T, ST. of Your Valued Patrc i ? ?- j %r~.l - i flftZIS iMS&ra auob a Death. Late Thursday afternoon, Frank f, Rikard, a young white man residing a about one mile south of Edmunds, q met a most tragic death. The young j lad had Worked hard all day and late v in the afternoon walked down to the E pond, which is located a short dis- n tance from the house, to spend some a time fishing, taking his snotgnn with t him. He had not been gone long j. when his mother's attention was at- c tracted by the report of a gun. She ^ and a younger son hurried to the c scene. Upon arrival at the pond they r were horrified to find the young man u lying flat in the boat gasping for lif$, ^ with a ghastly wound in the stomach. v He expired within a few minutes a ' without making a statement. c It is the presumption that the young c man, in getting into the boat, slipped and in falling the hammer of the gun n struck the edge of the boat, causing a a discharge of the shell. r , Frank Rikard was only about 22 years of age, and wa9 the mainstay of | a widowed mother, his father having I dipd snmfl lime aoro. His remains were laid to rest in the J Shealy burying ground on Saturday v" morning at 10 o'clock in the presence 8 of a large concourse of sorrowing rel- P atives and friends. * m v June Court Near at Baud. f The regular June term of court for t this county will convene on the sec- * ond Monday in June with the Hon.
