The county board of commissioners meet in annual session tomorrow. Mr. Job Harman, of Grime9 County, Texas, is on a visit to relatives here after an absence of 43 years. Miss Alice Mae Butler has returned to Winthrop. Mr. C. S. Goodwin, the prince merchant of Gaston and one of the best men that ever lived, was here yesterday on matters of business and gave us a pleasant call. Misses Ruth Efird, May Boozer and Ernestine Barre have returned to the College For Women. Mr. B. H. Barre and Mi99 Ernestine Barre visited relatives and friends in Newberry last week. Miss Jodie Caughman, of Columbia, was a charming holiday visitor. Mr. Julian P. Meetze was a visitor to St. Matthews on Sunday\ Mr. W. M. Swartz returned to Colombia on Monday to resume his work in the hardware department of the Lorick & Lowrance Co. Mayor Sam P. Roof returned on Sunday from a ten days' business trip to New York and other points in the North. Mr. E. G. Dreher, the popular clothier, spent several day9 in Washington and Baltimore last wee&. Messrs. Thomas L. Harman and C. S. Ranch have returned from Kentucky, where Mr. Harman bought a carload of horses and mules, which will arrive here the latter part of the week. Prof, and Mrs. S. J. Derrick have returned to Newberry, after spending the holidays here. Dr. R. E. Mathia3, of lrmo, the popular president of the Lexington County Medical Society, called in to see us while here Monday. Our old true and tried friend, Dr. H. G. Eleazer, of Spring Hill, popular with everybody and one of the best physicians of his section, attended the meeting of the Medical Society on Monday.
