Of the many weddings that have jeen solemnized in beautiful, historic St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, none lave been marked by greater beauty md simplicity in every detail, than ihe ceremony Thursday evening, when Sliss Lula Estelle Kaminer became he bride of Mr. Samuel Jesse Leaplart. The beautiful white interior of the ihurch, decorated with garlands of Southern smilax and beautiful white vedding bells, presented a scene of are beauty and loveliness. The rossrum was banked from either side :>ack to the altar with loyely ferns md stately palms. White ribbons narked off the seats reserved for the [amily, intimate tnenas ana reiauves. Promptly at 6 o'clock, as the sweet aotesof the wedding march, skillfully rendered by Mrs. E. B. Poof, with vialin accompaniment by Prof. David Smithdeal, of Columbia, pealed forth, the four ushers?Congressman A. F Lever, Sam P. P?oof, Alfred J. Fox and B. H Barre?came slowly up the aisle and took their places at the altar, two coming in at a time, one up each aisle. Next came the pretty maid of honor, Miss Annie Martha Meetze, niece of the bride, wearing a lovely gown of blue ribbon and white lace, carrying an armful of white roses. Next came the groom up the right aisle with his brother, Mr. C. E. Leaphart, as best man. La9t, advancing slowly up the left aisle, came the bride with her nephew, Mr. Julian P. Meetze, who gave xitjr iu maiiia^c. The Rev. T. S. Brown, pastor 01 Sh. Stephen's Church, pronounced the ceremony in a most beautiful, impro.-,aive manner, using the ring service of the Lutheran church. The bride wore a handsome mantailored London smoke serge dress, with hat and gloves to match and carried a lovely shower boquet of bride's roses, lillies of the valley and ferns. Immediately after the ceremony, the happy couple left on the 7 o'clock brain for a brief stay in Florida, amid a shower of rice and hearty good wishes. The love and esteem in which this worthy couple is held was shown by the numerous and beautiful presents of cut glass, silver, china and substantial pheeks. The bride is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Kaminer, and is a young woman with many charms, always popular at home and abroad. Mr. Leaphart is the very efficient postmaster and numbers his friends by the score. He is a son of the late Dr. C. E. Leaphart, a gradua e of the University of -South Carolina, an I is well known throughout the S .ate. NOTICE. Msotss's Esception f The crowning event of last week f was the brilliant reception given by p Mrs. M. W. Meetz? at the Meetze ho- J\ tel on Wednesday evening from 9 to I 11 o'clock in honor of her sister, Mies Luia Kaminer, whose marriage to |. Mr. Leaphart, occurred on Thursday ) evening. j The spacious entrance hallway was J beautifully decorated with Southern ! smilax, holly, mistletoe, palms and ferns. The office of the hotel was converted into a veritable bower of i loveliness, *ith its decorations of crimson and green. The mantel shelf was a bank of holly and crimson geraninms, while from tho front of ^ the mantel countless red tapers shed \ their beautiful light. In this room J were also displayed the many hand- | some presents. From a dainty and at- | tractive booth, arranged in one corn- j er, a bevy of pretty girls dispensed a rerfeshing punch. \ The handsome parlor was striking- jj ly artistic in its decorations of earn?- | tions and pink geraniums. The dining hall was artistically beau tiful in white interpersed with greer. Particularly artistic and beautiful was the bride's table, with it's cover cf 1 lace, snowy - white carnations and " maiden hair ferns. From a large lamp suspended over the table, hung j garlands of white, caught at the four ? corners with huge bows and dainty v sprays of maiden hair ferns. Recieving in the entrance hall were: . Mrs. John Wilson Butler, Mrs. D. R. 1 Haltiwang6r and Miss Elizabeth Dominick, of Newberry. At the parlor door Miss Annie Martha Meetze, ? O, assisted by Miss Sadie Raysor, of St. Matthews, received the guest3 and incited them into the parlor where Mrs. Meetze received with the bride and _ S3 groom and Mi9s Jodie Caughman, of ' Columbia. A i Miss Kaminer never looked more a i radiant than in her gown of lavender 1 tissue, hand made from the real pine- j apple fibre. The material from which S this dress was made came from Manila where it was made, and wss the gift . of Mis9 Kaminer's brother, Mr. ! W. 0.
