J Silly Felis's Letter. To the Editor of The Dispatch: The recent cool weather cast a damper on little cotton which caused it to look discouraging* but the gentle south winds and warm nights make it look more encouraging. A large congregation worshipped here Sunday. Among the congregation was Ex-Senator W. H. Sharpe of Edmunds. Ex-Representative P. E. Hutto, from Swansea, accompanied by his excellent family, was also in attendance. Several new boarders and patrons have arrived in town and on route 1 recently at the homes of J. H. Price, I C D XToonH W T fihorno Tho > A iiaiovj wuu XJ v* |/v. AWV i ! first named is a voter; the latter two I are matrons. The fond parents <ire ! deelighgted oyer the new comers and well they should be. ; A crazy dog put in some damaging t andtelling work at the beautiful home I of our esteemed friend J. W. Reeder, biting his two dogs and killing ten head of chickens for Mrs. J. J. Reeder. Everybody is looking forward to the 20th?the fish-frye and cue of C. S. Goodwin's at Prof. Smith's pond. Mrs. Malachia Sharpe is in a critical condition, suffering from cancer antiulcers. .. Paul J. Kneece, the champion hawk killer, bagged one recently measuring more than six feet from tip to tip. Misses Bertha and Maude, the two charming daughters of friend J. V. Hutto, were the guests of Misses Bessie and Ludie Fallaw recently. R. J. Fallaw, one of our best citizens, has been confined to bis room for the past two weeks, but under the skillful treatment of Dr. L. C. Brooker we are happy to report that he is improving. Postmaster Hartley and P. E. Hutto made a business trip to Columbia a few days ago. Mrs. Estelle Moore killed 33 black birds at one shot and said if she had had another loaded shell she would have killed the balance of the drove. Supervisor Langford was in our community recently in the discharge of his official duties and said that he would have the chaingang here soon. We certainly need something. Some of our public roads can't be distinguished from settlement roads, so far as being worked is concerned. Some people?unthonghtedly?will plow out into the public roads which they ought not to do. On the evening of the 8th a party of neighbors ana relatives gathered at the beautiful and lovely home of J. F. Fallaw and enjoyed an Ice cream festival. Friend Joseph and his interI e8tio? little family Vnow how to ,pn* tertam and make you have a good time. The Boynton school, under the management of Prof. R. V. Sawyer and his cultured sister, came to a close with imposing ceremonies on Friday evening, the 7th, by the children and a picnic on Saturday and addresses by prominent men. Mr. Editor, come down on the 20th. and get you a big fish. C. S. Goodwin, that nlmrod hunter and king fisherman, will give vou a good q0 . time. The price of shares has been reduced from $2 to$l. The pond bra; hot been drawn ^thirteen years" we think there are some big mossy back trout in there. J. W. Sharpe captured a 19-pound fish last Saturday and of course Mrs. Sharpe didn't forget the carrier with some ready for picnicing. Mrs. M. L. Rister remembered the Felix family with a lot of fine sweet potatoes, wane Mrs. u. j. lucxara presented the carrier with a mess of fine cabbage. All of these tokens of kind remembrance lighten the burdens of a weary carrier and gives him new zeal to render better service. The health of the happy Felix fam ily at this writing is excellent.
