The dispensary at Lewiedale will continue to hand out booze, the owner of the building, Mr. T. S. Mitchell, of Brookland, was arrested on the streets of Lexington, for non-payment of poll tax. The warrant was ?\vorn out by County Treasurer Sheal}* and O U niorlo + }lf? Qrrpsl outrun. \,Kjn\^\ iuu^u tuv Mitchell claimed that he was a resident of Columbia and, therefore, was not subject to poll tax in this county. But he was a resident of Bfookland, this county, in 1907, and was due to pay a poll. He was carried before Magistrate G. A. Derrick and a fine of $7 and all cost was imposed, in addition to the tax. On Monday of this "week, another white man, Archie Wilson, was ar- , \ rested upon the same charge. He was tried before Magistrate Derrick and a fine of $7 and cost^waa imposed. This is the third case of this kind within the past few weeks, and it is not unlikely that there will be others. v t r t Standing Room Only. Mr. Berley George and Miss Lottie Schneider were quitely married at the home of the groom's nncle, Mr. Erby George, on Sunday morning the Rev. W. D. Quick officiating. Immediatdly after the ceremony a bountiful dinner was served. The ceremony was witnessed by quite a number of relatives and intimate friends of the parties. Both of these young people are pop ular and many are the congratulation which have been showered upon them. Lady Dies Of Hydrophobia. Moulton, Ala, January 3.?Miss Ruby Green, daughter of a well known farmer living near Newburgh, died yesterday afternoon from hydrophobia contracted in an unusual manner. A mad dog recently bit a horse owned i by Mr Green, father of the young woman. The horse later went mad and was shot.
