Sullivan, as i follows, with reference to the lynchj ing last night: "I led the mob which | lynched Noise Pat ton, and I'm proud i of it; I did everything I could to see i that he was lynched. He cut a white j woman's throat, and of course, 1 i wanted him lynched. When I heard of his horrible crime, I started immediately to get a mob. I did all J could to raise one. I was at the jail la9t night and heard Judge Roane ad vise against lynching. I got up and urged the mob to lynch Patton. 1 aroused the mob and directed them to storm the jail. I had my revolver, but did not use it. I gave it to a deputy sheriff and told him to shoot Patton. I don't care what inyestigatior i9 made, or, what are its consequences. Derrick's Drug Store. Hauled Cotton Back Home. One of the two bales of new cotton on the market yesterday was bid in by J. W.' Maynard at 9 cents. It was of the middling grade. This bale was brought to the city by John Bent-ley, colored, who farms on shares on the | land of Earle Harris in the Dark Cor aer section. The other bale, produced by John Rucker, a colored farmer of Centerville, was hauled back to the plantation, Rucker having refused to accept the prevailing price for the cotton.?Anderson Mail. _ i $100 Reward, $100. When the car left Charleston it contained 40 sacks and 20 barrels of 9ugar, but when it reached Rock Hill Wednesday 'the only sign of sugar that could be found was the empty sacks, the sugar haviDg dissolved in the muddy waters of the Congaree at Kingville.
