Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy Would Have Saved Him $100.00. "In 1902 I had a very severe attack of diarrhoea," says R. N. Farrar of Cat Island, La. "For several weeks I was unable to do anything. On March 18, 1907, 1 had a similar attack, and took Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy which gave me prompt relief. I consider it one of the best medicines of its kind in the world, and had I used it in 1902 believe it would have saved me a hundred dollar doctor's bill." Sold by Kaufmann Drug Co. Eilled by Lightning While Under a Tree. Laurens, July 9.?During the severe electric storm in this section yester day afternoon Mr. E. McLees Cunningham * a well-to-do farmer, was struck and killed by lightning in a field, about a mile and a half from his home, in the Rocky Springs neighborhood, about five miles from here. Mr. Cunningham was in the field with his hands when the storm arose, and the presumption is that he took refuge u^der a big poplar tree, under which his body was found, which had been struck by the lightning. The field hands who were at work with Mr. Cunningham all went to the house, supposing that Mr. Cunningham had preceded them. However, when he did not make hie appearance it caused uneasiness and a search was begun. The body was not found until 9:30 o'clock last night, when the party came upon it beneath a large tree. Life was extinct. A Brutal Father. In the circuit court at Independence, Va., recently the jury in the case of Lewis Wingate, charged with the murder of his ten-year-old son, returned a verdict of murder in the second degree and fixed his punishment at 18 years in the penitentiary. Wingate collapsed when the verict was read. The boy's body was exhumed shortly after death and there were evidences of cruel treatment and starvation. It was charged that the father pulled the boy's teeth with blacksmith's tongs to keep him from eating. "Tie Bar." The saloon is sometimes called a bar* That's true. A bar to heaven, a door to hell; Whoever named it, named it well. A bar to manliness and wealth, A door to want and broken health. A bar to honor, pride and fame, A door to sin ana grief and shame. A bar to hope, a bar to prayer, A door to darkness and despair. A bar to honored, useful life, A door to brawling, senseless strife. A bar to all that's true and brave, A door to every drunkard's grave. A bar to joys that home imparts, A door to tears and aching hearts. A bar to heaven, a door to hell, Whoever named it, named it well. ?Exchange. The Remedy That Does. "Dr. King's New Discovery is the remedy that does the healing others promise but fail to perform," says Mrs. E. R. Pierson, of Auburn Centre. Pa. New Discovery is doing me so much good that I feel confident its continued use for a reasonable length of time will restore me to perfect health." Doan's Kidney Pills act quickly. Cure all distressing, dangerous kidney ills. Plenty of evidence to prove this. M. M. Graham, Newberry, S. C., says: "I used Doan's Kidney Pills and they did me 90 much good that I do not hesitate to endorse them. My back pained me for a long time, particularly at night and many time9 I have been unable to sleep on account of the misery. The pain seated itself right across the small of my back and through my loin9 and made it impossible for me to assume any position that was comfortable. The kidney secretions contained much sediment and were so frequent in action that I would have to rise several times at night. The various remedies I U9ed proved of no avail and I had about given up hope of ever being cured when I heard of Doan's Kidney Pills. I got a box and decided to try them, although I thought they would prove just as worthless as everything else I had previously taken. I was &otpp;i.K1v snmrised. however, as thev went directly to the cause of my trouble and brought about a cure. I have had no annoyance from my kidneys since and believe that the full credit is due to Doan's Kidney Pills." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents. In the summer one needs a tonic to off-set the customary hot weather nerve and strength depression. You will feel better within 48 hours after beginning to take such a remedy as Dr. Shoop's Restorative. Its prompt action in restoring the weakened nerves is surprising. Of course, you won't get entirely strong in a few days, but each day you can actually feel the improvement. That tired, lifeless, spiritless feeling will quickly depart when using the restorative. Dr. Shoop's Restorative will sharpen a failing appetite; it aids digestion; it will strengthen the weakened kidneys and heart by simply rebuilding the worn out nerves that these organs depend upon. Test it a few days and be convinced. Sold by Kaufmann Drug Co. For Sale.
