If the child urinates too often, if the urine scalds i the flesh, or if, when the child reaches an age when it should be able to control the passage, it is yet afflicted with bed-wetting, depend upon it, the cause of thediff culty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the treatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and not to a habit as most people suppose. Mills 11 Shut Down July 1. i Spartanburg, April 3o.?President R. | Z. Oates of the Arkwright mills has { handed to the press the following statement: "At a representative meeting of cotton manufacturers held this day in the chamber fef commerce it was resolved that they will accept no further orders for cloth at present prices; j that they will shut down their mills | indefinitely not later than July 1,190S." j XII iv many ico vu tuv | part of reporters the only answer was j that the above was all there was to be given out as to the meeting of the cotton manufacturers, and when the mill men were approached they declared with one accord that they had nothing to give out. It is understood that this meeting represented the cotton cloth manufacturers of South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina, those not represented by officials being represented by proxy. Though there has been much discussion of a possible shutdown the impression here has been that the blow would not fall?that in some way it would be avoided?but the resolution ha9 had a disquieting effect in all circles. There are 37 mills in this county and fully ?15,000,000 invested in them. The proposed shutdown is the result of the demoralized condition in the cotton cloth market.?The State. A Califoraian'g Luck. Mary Mayes, a young white woman, aged 20 years, was found dead in her room at Enoree a few Dierhts ago. Her mother said she heard a struggle in the girl's room and when she entered the room found her daughter dead. The next morning black marks were noticed about the throat and there was suspicion that her death was caused by violence. Coroner Turner held an inquest, but there was no evidence to bear out the foul play theory. The physician stated that death was from natural causes and that the dark spots on the neck was caused by the bursting of a blood vessel. Pretty Girl Confesses to M&ay Bold Crimes. There are very few farmers who have easli and no corn. The man who buys corn at this time has to send out of the country cash that would be very acceptable at home. If York county should raise all the corn she needs, there would be a great deal more cash than there is because approximately speaking, every bushel of corn that comes here from the West pinches one dollar off of the local circulation. All good business men have more or less appreciation of the extent to which corn is a money crop.
