Jb'oley & Co., Chicago, originated Honev and Tar as a throat and lung remedy, and on account of the great I merit and popularity of Foley's Honey and Tar many imitations are offered for the genuine. These worthless imitations have similar sounding names. Beware of them. The genuine Foley's Honey and Tar is in a yellow package. Ask for it and refuse any substitute. It is the best remedy for coughs and colds, Kaufmann Drug Co. A Snag Boat. Mr. Watson brought the gratifyingintelligence that there is now building i by the government at Georgetown a larger and stronger snag boat for useon the Santee and Congaree rivers. She will be completed by July and will be put into commission at once, being sent immediately to work on these rivers. Mr. Watson has been ! advised by Congressman Lever that Chairman Burton of the rivers and harbors committee has consented to make his long desired trip to Columbia and Georgetown just as soon as congress adjourns. >Ir. Lever has been endeavoring to get Mr. Burton to make this visit for a long time That it will mean much to this State goes without saying. The most eminent physician can not prescribe a better preparation for colic and diarrhoea, both for children and adults. The uniform success of this remedy has shown it to be superior to all others. It never fails, and when reduced with water and sweetened, is pleasant to take. Every family should oe supplied with it. Sold by The Kaufnianu Drug Co. Dr. Frankenfield's stay of ten days in South Carolina has been a busy one. As a result of the work of the State department and of the vigorous efforts of Congressman Lever, Mr. Frankenfield, who is in [charge of all the rivers of the United States, was sent here to establish and put in operation a complete flood warning service on all the river valley territory in the State, the object being to protect and develop the cattle raising industry of South Carolina. Secretary of Agriculture Wilson had promised this service and Dr. Frankenfield's visit was due to this. The new service is to be put into effect at once and will cover the valleys of all of the rivers in the State affected by floods. All reports, save for the Pee Dee ter ritory, will be sent into the weather station here and will thence be distributed by wire and posted at points in all the valleys convenient to those having cattle in the valleys. These warnings will also be of great value to the lumbering interests. Commissioner Watson is loud in his praise of the effective work done by Congressman Lever in this matter. Dr. Frankenfield while in the State visited all the rivers and went personally to points in the Piedmont, on the Cata: ba, on the Wateree went down the Cpngaree and Santee valleys in boats and on shore, and has gone back to i Washington thoroughly informed as to South Carolina rivers. It Is Dangerous to Neglect a Cold. How often do wo hear it remarked: I "Its only a cold," and a few days later learn that the man is 011 his back with I pneumonia. This is of such common occurrence that a cold, however slight, should not be disregarded. Chamberlain's Cough Remedy counteracts any tendency of a cold to result in pneumonia, and lias gained its great popularity and extensive sale by its prompt cures of this most common ailment. It always cures and is pleasant to take. For sale by Tiie Kaufmann Drug Co. One Button V7as In Use.
