Wednesday, February 14, 1906. Live Stock Association. The annual meeting uf the Live Stock Association was called to order in the Y. M. C. A. hall in Columbia on the 8:h inst., by tbe president, Mr. B. Harris, of Pendleton. There were present about 50 intelligent und progressive farmers and live stock men from all sections of tbe State, and while the convention was not as largely attended as some are, it made l-irt ir? i n f 11! > non na nnH finthnfiift;m what was lacking in numbeis Such an organization as this can do very much to spread the gospel of live stock in a small State, and the members will return to their homes with new ideas and Dew resolutions, the benefit of which will go to their neighbors as well as to themselves. President Harris' report was short but full of good suggestions and encouragement, showing that the o> ganization is growing end calling attention to the benefits that have been accomplished so far. Secretary R*wl in bis report suggested that a special committee of three be appointed to investigate the conditions and submit a plan by which eub-organ-gation can be formed in different sections of the State where they are needed, the idea being to reach all of the people of the State who are interested <n the subject of cattle raising or ought to be interested.
