On Wednesday, June 8, 1904, just as "the shadowed light of evening fell" and the air was being lighted "with a dusky glimmer," there assembled at the beautiful country home of Mrs. T. M. Geig6r, a host of friends to witness the marrige of her daughter, Ollie Elizabeth, to Mr , George K. Davis. Never was the home more beautiful, all was a picture of perfect loveliness. The color scheme in the parlor was green aDd white garlands, cedar festooned most gracefully from the four corners of the room to the centre, where there was a large ar tiatic horseshoe made of snow white flowers, the mantle was baDked with beautiful ferns and other potted plants. Various white flowers were scattered here and there, filling the surrounding air with a rare delicate perfume. On this scene fell a soft mellow light making all seem a dream far too beautiful to be real. Just at 7:30 o'clock the strains of that beautiful and always appropriate soDg "The Sweetest Story ever Told'' were heard. The words were suDg by Miss Effie Riley accompanied by Miss Maude Riley. As soon as the first staDza was completed the bridal party approached, entering in the followiDg order: Mies Carrie Davis, of Bakersville, with Mr. "\Vilmont Davie, of Columbia, next the groom, Mr. George Davie, with his brother, Mr. Cari Davis, as best maD, then came the lovely bride, Miss Ollie Geiger, leaning on the arm of her sister, Miss Mary Geiger, as maid of honor. Roundtree, with the pretty impres- | give ceremony of the Methodist | church made the hearts of the happy couple as one. The bridesmaid and maid of honor ! looked very sweet in dresee3 of white | cotton chiffon. The bride never j looked more beautiful than in her | handsome gown of white silk crepe de chine with trimmings of real lace, j tucks shirring, etc, a soft white j dainty veil caught with a large bow j of white silk ribbon fell to the end of her long train. She carried a j huge bunch of white carnations and j ferns tied with a loDar white silkccrd which huDg in graceful loops. Asa gift from the groom she wore a beautiful gold locket stamped with the Knights of Pythias badge, of which order he is a member. Soon after the ceremony the guests were ushered into the spacious din ing hall, which had been most tastily decorated in red, pink and green, with numerous little candles here and there shedding an indescribable radiance. A very elaborate and peculiarly tempting menu was served in courses. The delightful reception lasted i until 11 oclcck when Mr. and Mrs. [ Davis 'neath showers of rice left for Columbia, from thence they went to Asheville, N. C, for a few weeks stay. The handsome groom is a young man of sterling worth, and there is none fairer than his sweet, attractive bride, who in her maidenhood has excited much envy. The fortunate one we hail as a glorious victor of so precious a jewel. It is cot frequent that such an exquisite display of handsome presents is seen as was seen among the innumeral number of which they were the recipients attesting the popularity and great esteem in which they are held. We wish for these well know young people as theyv "sail forth into the sea of life1' a prosperous, unalloyed and hapyy voyage. M. N. Bakersvilie, S. C. Many Children are Sickly.
