Dr. Croeson belives that tobacco c*n be pocceasfabv cultivated in tbe soil of L*xit>g ton on a paving banis, and baa arvived at ibis oonoluaion after a thoughtful study of tbe subject in all tbe conditions required to tbe growth, i nurture and development of t he plant He has given evidence of bia faith in j tbe comctnees of bis theory bv bia work* and is preiiariDg to give tbe experiment, a thorough, careful and an intelligent teat. Dr Grosaon ia a hve and progressive farmer and we are truly glad :bat be bas undertnk on this important work, as be has the means at bis command to cam on tbe work so as to obtain tbe best veeults. Pe? h?ps tbe burdeo could not have Mien on the shoulders of a more competent and intelligent citi a?n than he is, and one who will give tbe experiment more c?re and attention than be will so as to demonstrate beyond a doabfc the ad?pt-*bi 3ity of our soil to tbe cultivation of b fioe grade of tbe weed at remunerative prices. Tbe raising of tobacco above tbe cost of production means much to tbe financial interest of Lexington county. It is a money crop and plaoes at tbe disposal of tbe farmers thetaady rash at a time when it is mostly Deeded and will enable tbem to harvest tbeir other crops without being forced to go into I debt to do ro Tbe result of Dr. Oosson's experiment in tbe cultivation of tbe weed will be carefully watched with deep interest by tbe farmers of Lexington, as well as many others. .1 a i i xnere are omer large punters id and arouod Leesville, as well as io .atber sections of that, vicinity, whose names we have failed to learn, who joined Dr. Crosson io bis undertak ing, and it is certain that through, the influence of this large combination of brains and capital the experiment will be giveo a thorough and an intelligent trial. * A* a resalt ti a broken anxle on a car of the Southern freight train seven cars and Crane creek trestle were burned. CATARRH THIRTY YEARS* The Remarkabie Experience of a Prominent Statesman?Congressman Meekison Gives Pe-ru-na a High Endorsement* Congressman Meekison of Ohio. Hon. David Meekison is veil known not only in his own State, but throughout America. He was elected to the Fifty-fifth Congress by a very large majority, and is the acknowledged leader of his party in his section of the State. Only one flaw marred the otherwise complete success of this rising statesman. Catarrh with its insidious approach and tenacious grasp, was his only unconquered foe. Dor thirty years he waged unsuccessful warfare against this personal enemy. At last Peruna oame to the rescue. He writes: "I have used several bottles of Pe runa and / feel greatly benefited there* by from my catarrh of the bead. I feel encouraged to believe that if I use it a short time longer 1 will be fully able to eradicate the disease of thirty years' standing."?David MeerJson, Membet of Congress. > If you do not derive prompt and satisfactory results from the use of Peruna, write at once to Dr. Hartman, giving a full statement of your ca e and he will be pleased to give you hi \ valuable advice gratis.
