An Explanation. To the Editor of the Dispatch: I do not think that the article in your issue of April 9th, headed "A New Steel Bridge," put3 the present Board of County Commissioners in the proper light. The article says: 4'We understand that an agreement rtQQ hopn hv fho nf County Commissioners and the factory officials whereby the county is to put up the bridge and build the stone ! abutments and the factory company | is to do the filling in at each end of j the bridge and build a good road I way.'' There is nothing wrong with the | above specifications, but the present Board of County Commissioners is not responsible for the said agree' ment. It is only complying with a : written agreement or contract enterI ed into by the factory officials and a | former Board of County Commis| sioners, which said agreement is on : file in the Commissioners office.
