B Cargile, of "Washita, I. T. This shows what thousands have proved?that Electric Bitters is the best blood purifier known. It's the supreme remedy for eczema, tetter, salt rheum, ulcers, boils and running sores. It stimulates liver, kidneys and bowel?, ex pels poisons, helps digestior, builds up the strength. Ouly 50 cents. Sold by J. E. Kaufmann, D.uggist. Guaranteed. Swansea's Doings. To the Editor of the Dispatch: A very cold snap and a heavy snow have been our visitors of late, and 1 hog killing and a supply of puddings, sausages and spare ribs has < been the order of the day. Linwood Corbitt has returned to * his studies at Furman University. Dr. T. E. Dowling of Winnsboro ( is on a visit to relatives at Swansea. The health of the neighborhood is generally good. The cold has given place to rain and today is a very juicy day. Miss Alice Bookman, the sister of Carrol Bookman, and Berths, his daughter, are spending sometime with their relative, Mrs. Annie Itist. Miss Alice and Carrol are children of David Bookman, cf dear and tender recollection to older citiz-ns of this community. Mrs Jane Carten now In 63 in the house where David Bockman taught the ones who have been the structure of worth aod merit in ' thie county, and around what is now Swansea a half a century ago rang the merry shouts of those whom be was preparing for future usefulness. (hear Brooker, after a hard strug gle with typhoid fever, on last Sunday yielded to its imperitive demands * and dow sleeps in the silent city of the dead. A youDg life nearly arriving at its majority has been summoned away from its associations and can fill the heart of a father and mother for the departure of a son who never gave them an abrupt or rash answer, or whose every desire was the parental wish, and what memory other than that of pleasure and joy can linger with brothers and sisters for one whose life never gave utterance to an ULfriendly feeling or a selfish motive towards them. A life of over twenty yeais which gave rise to no rupture in the family and which furnished to school and playmites no source of regret, is one well wjrtby of their future imitation. The lifeless remains of such a son, such a brother and friend were taken from the home of Dr. W. T. Brooker on last Monday and deposited ia the family burying ground at Swansea, where the friends and fellow citizens laid quietly down all that was mortal of Oscar Brooker to await the bidding of that Saviour that that spirit lcved and served while living. What more natural than that a life , so lived should spend its few last ( fleeting moments in conversing about heaven, and what could be the more reasonable end than to use its last feeble, falteriDg accents to sing '"Jesus lover of my soul.,; Oicar pined the Sardis Biptist ] church when still a boy but his life is a proof than he was well aware of w hat he wa3 doing and is a trophy for Christianity and the happy heiit- ' age of his kindred. * The funeral was preached at the ^ grave by his pastor, James H Sanford, assisted by Rev. T. F. Rivers, late in the afternoon of Monday and the sun sat on the grave of another citizen cf the spiritual world. January 11,1000. Spectator. * The Wifb &neT7 Better.
