L. Mitnnaugh k Co., and were surprised at the tremendous stocks of goods therein displayed. Ever) body was ou the go and clerks were busy waiting on customers. Notwithstanding the hurry and bustle and seemingly confusion and Buble of voices the well trained corps of clerks attended to their vaiious duties with a systematic promptness that was really wonderful to witn-: ss. "YYi h a nod to an acquaintance here and a pleasant word there they met the demand of the rush with prompt, polite and courte ous attention to all. We were pleased to see many Lexingtonians, who are constant readers of the Dispatch, had gone there to make their purchases and were gratified at their expressions of pleasure at their purchases and the prices paid therefor. There is no doubt about the bargains in all kinds of dry goods, dress good-:, I notions, miliinery, clothing, shoes and hats, that Mr. Mimnaugli is offering to the purchasing public and we advise all who want to get the biornrpst values for their monev to go M ~*C>? - w ^ there before purchasing elsewhere, ft He announces some startling facts \ in this issue, among them ihat he has for the last five months been collecting together one of the best and largest stock of goods evei brought to the South and that he has defied competition by marking prices so low that none are able tc foliow Mimnaugh's lead. He extend? a cordial invitation to his Lexington customers, as well as these who iniv* never traded at bis four big combi nation stores to call and see hi: magnificent goods and guarantee? satisfaction in every particular. ' My wife insisted that I go for the doctor at once; but as he was out of town, I purchased a bottle of Cham bei Iain's Cough Remedy, which relieved the child immediately." A bottle of that remedy in the house will often save the expense of a doc tor's bill, besides the anxiety always occasioned by serious sickness. AYhc-n it is given as soon as the eroupy cough appears, it will prevent the attack. Thousands of mothers always keep it in their homes. The '2~> and 50 cent bottles for sale by J. E. Kauf mann. A Sudden and Sad Death. As we go to press we received with unfeigned sorrow the sad intelli gence of the sudden death of Mrs. Sallie Kiininer, at the home of Mr. Ed. Gable in Red Rank this morning. The immediate cause of her death was heart disease, from which she had been a sufferer for years, so v%e understand. Mrs. Kamiuer was an estimable lady, enjoying the love, respect and confidence of the entire community. In her the sick, hud an attentive nurse; the sorrowing and distress a warm and sympathetic friend and the light hearted a cheerful and patient companion. Like an angel of mercy her presence in the home of mourning was a benediction of peace. Tiie genllc, loving, trusting heart throbs no more for human sorrow and distress: the pure and gentle spirit of this old mother in Isreal has winged its everlasting flight to that "mansion of God, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens," | while we are left sad and in darkness upon the shores of time waiting for | the summons to go hence. Let us strive to emulate her virtues and ! follow her as she followed the footsteps of Jesus. Mrs. Kaminer was born on the 13th of June, 1825.
