The case will probably be carried to the circuit court. William Brown, of Rock Hill, on a similar charge was acquitted. ?The many friends of Mr. W. D. Robinson were pleased to see him on the street yesterday. Mr. Robinson has been confined to hi*'home for more than two years, the greatest part of which time he has been unable to leave his bed. ?Wednesday evening August 23d, the Presbyterian church at 'Liberty Hill was the scene of a very pretty wedding, the contracting parties being Mr. John Leon Lewis, of Horry County, and Miss Frances Knight Floyd, daughter of Gen. V All pupils nlready assigned to grades, ond those to he examinad for assignment, will assemble at the school building promptly at 8 :30 a. m. Pupils residing within the limits of this School District will be required, a9 heretofore, to pay a monthly incidental fee of | twenty-five cents, each, the same < to be paid strictly in advance, at I the beginning of each school 1 moTUh. Pupils eutering the school from beyond the school district limits < will be required to pay tuition on the following scale : Grades I,.11,-111,' one dollar per month ; Grades, IV, V, VI, one dollar and fifty cents per month ; Grades VII, VIII, IX, X, two dollars per month. This includes the incidental fee. Cheap rates of board can be secured in private families by ( pupils coming from a distance. < Pupils from the country will be permitted to take studies in dif- 1 ferent grades, provided the hours of recitation do not conflict. Special arrangements are to be made for the preparation of pupus desiring 10 enter college . The Factory school, under ( the supervision of miss Grace Whisonant, will also begin its session Monday, Sept. 4th. , No child under six yeurs of ' age will be admitted in either the town or factory school. Narrow Kscnpe of R. Ij. lllackiiion ' and 101 lio Bruce. Messrs Robert L Blackmon and Ellic Bruce had a narrow escape From'dcath last Friday evening. Mr. Blackmon, who lives at Kershaw, had gone up to Ilcath Springs on the the train to witness the game of ball that afternoon and hired a turnout at the Bruce stable to takej him home. Mr. Bruce was accompanying him to bring the horse and vehicle back to Ileath Springs. When at the crossing about half mile this side of Kershaw the Southern's northbound passenger train ran into them wrecking the vehicle and tilling the horse. While both the occupants were thrown from the auggy fortunately for them they escaped serious injury. ?Hon. J. E.
