As we journeyed from Edge field to the campaign meeting at Col liers Saturday we grew more and more optimistic. The Yonce Motor Company advises prospective buyers of Ford cars to place their order at once, as the sup ply of cars is not equal to the de imand. Mr. Yonce received two car loads a few days ago and they have already been sold and have been de ilvered. The easy terms on which Mr. Yonce offers to sell cars makes it pos sible for one to own a Ford without paying all cash. Ask about the easy payment plan. Mr. W. E. LaGrone of Johnston while in Edgefield today told The Advertiser's representative that an other campaign will be put on in the county at once to increase the mem bership of the Co-Operative Cotton Marketing Association. Both Furnish Bond As Sheriff W. R. Swearingen failed to give bond as he said he would do when apprised that a bond charging him with assault and battery had been issued, Judge J. B. Tompkins, acting upon the advice of an attorney sent the warrant to C?roner T. E. Byrd. Although in feeble health, Mr. Byrd came to Edgefield Saturday morning to serve the warrant and found that Mr. Swearingen had gone to the campaign meeting at Colliers, so he waited until his return in the afternoon and served' the warrant. Mr. Swearingen at once gave bond in the sum of $500, his bondsmen be ing Mr. J. R. Timmerman and Mr. W. C. Tompkins. Mr. Swearingen then had a war rant issued before Judge Tompkins for Mr. A. A. Edmund, charging him with assault and battery with intent to kill. The warrant was served Sat urday afternoon and Mr. Edmunds immediately gave bond and demand ed a preliminary hearing. His bond was signed by Mr. L. S. Kernaghan. T^e honor guests were two Edgefield young ladies (not members of Old Maids' Club) who have been residing for some time in Greenville, Misses Virginia Simkins and Ruth Timmer man, and are spending their vacation in Edgefield. It has been said that all who were honored with invitations Friday night were the gayest of the gay-scarcely, if at all, out of their teens. At any rate, had not the so cial feature made the guests' cup of joy overflow, the elaborate feast, served in courses, would have been sufficient to make the occasion linger long in one's memory. Probably some of those present were just a-wee bit older than they once were, possibly old enough to have enrolled for the primary, and yet the merry peals of laughter that burst forth from door and window of this superb home made the passerby imagine that the younger set of Edgefield were hav ing a sort of debut party. The two honor guests were presented by the members of the Old.Maids' Club, who ever they are, with two beautiful, handmade handkerchiefs. Buy a FORD and bank the difference.-Adv.
