The Democratic chairman of each county has been requested to set apart Saturday, July 15 as Ladies' Day when an effort will be made to get all women who have not already enrolled to do so on that date. Please interview your chairman and urge him to adopt this plan. Thus runs a letter from the State Chairman of the League of Women Voters. The women are being urged to en roll and vote for men and women who will enforce the law. You women who read this know many who never see a thing about their duty, and never hear a thing except as their men folks see it. Every woman in South Caro lina who reads this appeal from Mrs. Williams and does not bestir herself to get the message to the less privi leged "sisters" is a slacker-that's what she is. We can't sit in the shade and embroider and blame anybody but ourselves if law enforcement goes down in our state. Friends, "we can not believe that the women of South Carolina are lacking in patriot ism or that they will fail in their duty to their beloved state, when they are brought to see the great obliga tion resting upon them;" but how shall they "get the idea" when you women who read and who know all about the need do not do your duty? Now is the time. Go out after them and do not wait for "a convenient season." That never comes but de feat and disaster do come. Let the blood of your sires tingle in your J veins, and, like them, see that right I prevails so far as it lies in you. The books close on July 25th-go to you book and enroll. If you have not registered that does not matter, but go and enroll now and vote in the primaries. Register before October to vote in the general election, but enroll now for the primary election, and vote for law enforcement on Au gust 29th. E. A. D.
