One in Ohio recently died and left all his money to a woma.. who refused to marry him when ehe was a girl. Among the visitors to the Edge field Public Library on Frida) afternoon last was Miss Lona Tillman, of Tren lou, who is a regular patron of the library. Among the students who will matriculate at the S. C. C. L to morrow from this county will be handsome Strom Williams, the eldest son of Mr. C. H. B, Williams On Sunday morning last Miss Sue Collett was received into the Edgefieid Baptist church by letter from Hom's Creek church. Miss Kate Pattison also presented her self as a candidate for baptism. The S. C. C. I. has 17 officers and teachers engaged for the ses sion which begins September the 29tb. This faculty represents the very best colleges and universities in the United States. Mr.M. D.Lyon, Edgefieidcoun ty's most successful dairyman, sold twelve fine Jersey Cows to the proprietor of the Palmetto Dairy Farm of Aiken on Sam rd ay last receiving a handsome price for th(m. The faculty enlarged for the coming session of the S. C. C. I. is a very strong one indeed, spe cialists baviug been engaged for eveiy department. The salaries paid these teachers are equal to the salaries paid by a large num ber of colhgeB in the state. Miss Rosa Lou LaGrone, a ^'ster ol Mrs. J. E. Hart, returned to the Greenville Female College 8 few dayB ago, but was seized with appendicitis and had to bd carried to her borne at Joh ns'on on Mon day. She has gone to the hospital in Augusta to be operated upon. Mrs. W. H. Dorn has been at the hospital in Augusta about a month and has steadily improved since she was operated upon sev eral weeks ago. Mr. Dorn has gone down to-day, Tuesday, - to accom pauy her home.
