It was put and carried that the empty barrels weigh not exceeding sixty pounds, made of scnsmicd timber, and hooped with eight good hoops; that it made of unseasoned timber sixty pounds be deducted from Overy such barrel. This deduction will also apply to barrels put in soak ; that barrels not full of turpentine shall be deduct ed in proportion to the quantity in them; that is to say, * barrel half full shall be subject to a 1 e-dedu?'t ion of thirty cent*, and so on. Turpentine mixed with scrape will be paid for as all scrape; scrape barrels to be made same as rosin barn.Is ; top head adzed and howclcd, and to weigh not over fifty pounds. Scrape badly mixed with large chips and wood, arid scrape boiled or cooked, or packed by hot water to be paid tor at half price. All dip barrels to be sold for fifty cents each ; rosin or scrape barrels at l th'rty-three and one-third cents each. It was unanimously adopted that no turpentine be hauled for less than 20 ...... The praying women of Ohio have met with a rebuff at Hillsboro, in that I St Ate, in this wise: The keeper of a i large and costly drug store, who had never sold liquors to be drunk upon ! the premises, or to minors or drnnk1 ards, was visited by the ladies, and a first-class prayer meeting held in front , ol his door, upon the pavement. It interfered with his legitimate business, : and he determined to put a stop to it by suing out an injunction. Judge i Safiord granted it, and his decision says, quite definitely: "When such worship is made the pretext of breaking up a man's h^vful trade; of'interfering with (lie quiet and * peaceful enjoyment <?i his own property; of bringing hint into public ridicule and disgrao; "I defaming his calling ami character, and this without inter- # mission lor six consecutive weeks in the storms and colds of winter, creatine: heartburnings among neighbors, defamation of private character, and unsettled state of society?that, sir, in V a nuisance."
