The edlitroas of the Barnwell county Timet recently eald, of Johnson, "Had the medical profession rather than Journalism engaged our attention, instead of consulting his pulse or looking at his tongue we should, when called to attend him, have asked for a copy of bis newspaper, and from it prepared a clear diagnosis of his case." We shall expect to see a heroic prescription in the Time* this week. The last copy of the Standard shows an inflamed liver beyond question. Dr. Jones would certainly be justified in administering an emetic. No, don't take it Johnson, or lhere will be another inquest. COURT PROCEEDINGS. Charleston Election. "The municipal election in Charleston last week |>assud off without any of the riotous acts marking the one proceeding it ami resulted iu the sticce-s of the Kcpublican ticket. As might bave been expected, which ever jwrtv proved successful, there is much fault fouud w ith the conduct of the election officers, and the conservatives bave entered a protest alleging numerous irregularities. The proceedings under the protest now are primary and do not allow of any well fcruicd opinion as to what the final result may lie. Some of the irregularities if proved, are sitnply sufflcicnt to render any election void, in regulated municipalities. Another Water Logged Vessel.
