McCutch en of Aynor, S. C. The celebration was in the way of a double affair for Mr. and Mrs. Roddy Devlin were mar ried on the same day only two years later. The tea table was 'a lovely sight, the center of the table being given up to two handsome cakes, one with five and one with three candles. A delightful tea was served and the occasion was a most pleasant one. FRED HILL'S PICNIC. Fred Hill, Jr., celebrated his sixth birthday with a picnic at the City Park Tuesday the 13th. About thirty five of his little friends were present and the following grown people saw that they had a good time: Mrs. Fred Hill, Mrs. R. E. Cox, Miss MaTy Hill Harris, Miss Margaret Perrin and Capt Jack Perrin. A grand time was had paddling in the branch, looking at the animals in the park, and last but not least was the picnic dinner, which was served in individual picnic baskets, each little guest having a dinner bas ket filled with chicken, sandwiches. stuffed eggs, pickle, cake and other things. In each basket was an indi vidual drinking cup for drinking lemonade. A delightful time was had by all present. WOODHURST-STARNES Miss Ruth Woodhurst and Lewis Starnes were married this after noon at 4 o'clock at ilie Presbyteri an manse at Lebanon by Rev. J. B. Hillhouse. After the ceremony their friends accompanied them to Hodges where they caught the Southern for a honeymoon trip to the mountains of western North Carolina. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Woodhurst, and has I been with E. OF1. Arnold Co., as i book-keeper until recently. Mr. Staraes came to Abbeville from Ninety-Six and is connected [ with the McMurray Drug Company.
