'Acreage plus, condition equals the, I nal out-turn. With thirty five million' J acres planted in cotton this year, a' ; very low yield is naturally indicated i Largely off-setting the bullish in j fluence of the Bureau Report was the! admission of the Government that! they had under-estimated last year's j acreage by 1,175,000 acres -jut even1 should this year's acreage equal the j corrected acreage of last year and i basing our prospective out-iurn upon the June condition figures, we would, j have an indicated yield far less thai j l the usual requirements or the world | ( We find, however, that in comparing , the June condition with the July | J condition for the past fifty years, an MHB5HBHBHBBSSHPESESi^faHHS2?B3P * ail Hail | ops looked any better, m itions favored a bump- m my better than this p )u had as much invest- Eg h to win or as much to M sure, or are you going || vith HAIL? Should we have this average advance in the Julj; report, we would have indicated a condition of 63 f/r or seven points lower than the lowest condition which has even been issued in July. Private reports from our customers and also the observation on a recent Southern trip of one of the members of this firm, leac us to conclude that there will be no material advance in condition during the coming month. . I The weekly weather report which covers the week since the making up of the Government Condition figures, was unfavorable and the old saying "the roses bloom irl June" and that June is usually a bearish month may not prove true this year. There is unquestionably a large amount of low grade cotton available in this country, but the mills, who in years passed have been :ow grade rtartcnw /-we oro *ia\i t nclwrr nnltr Vl 1 <rVl CUWOUJiltlO C41.W iiv?' ??*t? grade cotton. For the reason that their yarn out-turn is greater and second because labor prefers to work on high grade cotton rather than on low grades, because of mill reasons, with which many of our friends are fully conversant. ( Outside conditions continue unfavorable and although Exchange has rallied, a further sharp advance is believed by many to be Improbable. We continue to view the cotton situation as outlined in our letters of the past few weeks that is; purchases on sharp declines should prove profitable, but would not advisfe purchases on advances. . j Cotton Seed Oil. I Weakness in Oriental oils, lack of export demand for tallows and grease and poor domestic demand, ? leads us to believe that a further g reaction will occur in cotton seed oil. g However, we are bullish for ultimate | results. 11 Grain. Predictions of an easing freigh ;g situation under orders of the Inter- 1 state Commerce Commission will re- 3 lease interior grain which is now con- g gested at local points. The effect of i these shipments to primary markets 4 will undoubtedly be bearish, and we J? continue to favor sales of corn on ? such rallies as have recently occurred * Springs & Co.
