NIVERSITY'S ACTION AGAINST TUBERCULOSIS IS APPROVED Taking the action of the Univer- i ty of South Carolina at Columbia 5 a standard by which all colleges i the State would be cooperating in better health program, Philip B. Tamer, Executive Secretary of the 5uth Carolina Tuberculosis Associaon, sent a query to the heads of the irious educational institutions as to leir methods of safeguarding the udent body from disease. His stateent of the fact that the university i the capital city had passed a law, jproved by the Board of Trustees, ~ impelling all students to undergo at ast two physical examinations each jar has led other oolleges to plan for le adoption of similar requirements. Out of twenty replies, six colleges sported such examinations now beig held and fourteen had no" law exjpt that entrance examinations and DCtor's certificates were required. ight of the fourteen stated intenons of proceeding in the same direcon as the University of South Carona. All of the responses heartily pproved of such a course and all the )llege leaders were for looking after le physical side of the school life.
